Monday Morning Right away, I could tell, I was losin' my heart but I loved her to death Said it was a challenge, and I was right, so why did I not pick up that fight? Monday Morning, Friday Night, the days bled together the truest fright Till there was nothin' and no more left and nowhere to go, but outta that mess But it didn't start out hardly that way, we were runnin' around with no place to stay. Writin' songs, havin' fights, our eyes bled together the purest white. So we got a little place, just off the street, there were more things to do but less people to meet watchin' films, fallin asleep, when we woke back up, we'd go to the store Right away, I could tell, I was losin' my heart but I loved her to death Said it was a challenge, and I was right, so why did I not pick up that fight? When it was over in all but the space, we managed to find just a little trace, looked in her eyes, and she looked back at me, whatever happened to that electricity? too much water and too much pain and too much of us just feelin the same. Blame myself, can't blame the rest, for not even tryin to pass that test. Right away, I could tell, I was losin' my heart but I loved her to death Said it was a challenge, and I was right, so why did I not pick up that fight?

Into Each Other's Eyes I walked into a job; I'd not seen her before; She asked me “how are you”? I took it as a joke. She read my face and got it; what it was I'm not sure if either of us knew..........we Fell into each other's eyes and ears and mouths and hands clapping; and fingers clasping around; then we Fell into the other side of eyes and ears and mouths closing and arms folded around. I touch her on her nose, she said that tickles stop...i never knew how to tease a girl; till I met her. Smile sayin no but yes, comes along so rarely dare I say it happens barely....we Fell into each other's eyes and ears and mouths and hands clapping; and fingers clasping around; then we Fell into the other side of eyes and ears and mouths closing and arms folded around. Threw a penny in the, water yesterday. I watched it sink into the blue green hole Far away from the sun, but now it's with the stones and kissin fish and feelin right at home....we Fell into each other's eyes and ears and mouths and hands clapping; and fingers clasping around; then we Fell into the other side of eyes and ears and mouths closing and arms folded around.

Yeah the air was cool but the river looked thick under the bridge that put our heads in the orangey clouds, and the buildings that pulsed, echoed, pleading with for not to leave. So we stayed and we stayed and we played out in the streets just below the river banks yeah and I gave thanks and I walked down the walk with a drink in my hand feeling the music that made my heart expand. And you took your pictures that we still can't see though the memory I was hopin' that would carry me, pushed back by harsh east winds, neon hopes and junk store promises....streets cordoned off. Not easy to return, but I can feel the pull And we drove back through the country darker than my insides, with warnings of good ol' cops and thugs my eyes, darting out into zero, high beams making the black look....light black. But I came back, I needed to see to hear to feel again, the riverbanks and their molasses sin, put my hands on the flaky tiles and the wood and see the soft chair cracked by time and hear those dusty little rhymes..... But it still works, I can feel the depth. Not easy to return. And we busted our insides 4-5 times over talkin about coinslots and mommy's laps and the shit sound and I took some. But you gotta admit I gave it back and I got us back like a train on a track.

Rome, NY 02:58
Rome, NY Twelve Soldiers from Roma fell, their names hang on a wall, riding that sad old train the stop on the way. Passing that crumbled frame; that time I never knew; but whose ghosts forever stand, eternally sigh..(sigh) Felt on the inside in a part that you can not see; pulls you the fuck out your destination. Cause it's that stop in-to the unwelcome night, the time in Toledo we flew out the glass doors. Reminds me of something; something I never knew. Or is it something; something I....do Are we all; all there is? Blue angels fly in formation to make us proud, sparkle that dust in our eye all around. Boy with a plastic sword and girl with a matching shield but they won't hear the same piercing sound (as them) Reminds me of something; something I never knew. Or is it something; something I....do

We Can't Be Friends If I would not dare to lie, I don't see any reason why Why we should remain as friends, till the bitter end And if it's so important now, Why's it not important when You met my flowers with a scowl and where had you been? So you can put this in evidence That we didn't make much sense And livin' in the present tense our past is too high an expense But baby don't get me wrong Our times flow through me like a song Your strings laid across my arms so soft and so long Please just Go Away Sometimes it seems like a dream Emotions are not what they seem But when i have to hear you speak it just puts me right back to sleep So I'll keep this in my heart all alone Wherever it is that you roam My head wishes you all the best but my heart just can't quite accept.
